One-shot short One For The Money lands Tropfest 2026 YouTube Wild- card Top 10

Sydney / Melbourne, Australia: One For The Money the debut short film from husband-and-wife
duo Jimmy Eaton (actor, comedian, filmmaker) and Maddy Tyers (actor, producer), has been selected as a Tropfest 2026 YouTube Wildcard finalist from more than 700 submissions, placing it among 10 Wildcard films in contention for a final spot in the Tropfest lineup.
Tropfest will return in 2026 after a six-year hiatus, with the live event scheduled for Sunday 22 February 2026 at Centennial Park, Sydney.
Shot in one continuous take, One For The Money is a love letter to 90s cinema "our happy place," say Eaton and Tyers — made with a cast and crew of eight, filmed in four hours on an iPhone 17 Pro, on a $2,000 budget, followed by extensive post-production. (Runtime: 4:55.)
Eaton and Tyers are also known to audiences from LEGO Masters Australia (Season 1, 2019). The Tropfest YouTube Wildcard winner is determined by audience engagement during the official voting window February 4-14, 2026, via the Tropfest YouTube "Wildcard 2026" playlist.
