Media release: Grace Petrie Postpones Aus/NZ Tour Following Family Bereavement

Announcement posted by Jameson & Co 20 Feb 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Grace Petrie has postponed her upcoming Australia and New Zealand tour following the sudden passing of her father.

The tour, which was scheduled to begin in March, will now be rescheduled to 2027, with new dates to be announced in due course. Ticket holders will have the option of retaining their tickets for the rescheduled dates or obtaining a refund via their original point of purchase.

Grace shared the following statement:

"To say I am heartbroken at the loss of my wonderful, wonderful dad doesn't come close to covering it. I'm therefore sorry to announce I'm unable to complete my upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand that was due to begin in March.

I know that the lovely folks who were planning to see me in Australia and Aotearoa will understand that performing for me is a lot deeper than putting on a show. I got my love of music from my dad and I believe, as he did, that what we all create together in the room is an authentic connection. I always try my hardest to give audiences nothing less than my best, and I am in no state to give that right now.

Where possible, we are postponing these shows so tickets should remain valid for the new date when it is scheduled. Our shows in Melbourne, Castlemaine, Archies Creek and Canberra are unable to be postponed, and for these my phenomenal dear pal Irish Mythen is stepping in. They are an exceptional performer and I know they'll give you a brilliant show. Should you wish to refund your tickets instead, you can do so at the point of sale. We will announce new dates when we get that far.

I have always had a special love for Australia and Aotearoa, and the wonderful folks there who have supported me and held me up for years. Thank you for your understanding while I navigate these difficult days. GP x"

Grace will return to Australia and Aotearoa in 2027, including most of the venues and festivals originally scheduled for this tour, and more. Further details regarding rescheduled dates will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.

The previously announced performances in Melbourne (Corner Hotel and Burrinja Cultural Centre), State Festival Castlemaine (Theatre Royal), Archies Creek and Canberra (National Folk Festival) will proceed as scheduled with internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Irish Mythen stepping in. Details of Irish Mythen's run of shows will be announced shortly.

Grace and her team thank audiences, venues and festival partners for their understanding and compassion during this time.
