Dami Im to sing Australian and South Korean anthems at Matildas’ game as fashion selfie world record attempt takes place for International Women’s Day

Announcement posted by Office of Sport 06 Mar 2026

Dami Im, the Korean-Australian singer and songwriter, will perform both South Korean and Australian national anthems at the Matildas vs Korea Republic game at Stadium Australia on International Women's Day, Sunday, 8th March.

The X Factor winner and Eurovision royalty, who represented Australia and placed second in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, is also throwing her support behind the Stadia 2 Street campaign, which is attempting to break the world record for the most simultaneous selfies posted between 7.30-7.35pm AEDT before the game.

The record attempt is part of Stadia 2 Street - a movement to boost female sports fandom by embracing fashion, inspiring fans to style their football jersey or fan gear with fun, sartorial touches.  Check out the hero videohere

Dami Im said

"I often say I'm born in Korea, made in Australia - so being asked to perform both the Australian and South Korean national anthems for the upcoming Australia vs Korea Republic AFC Women's Asia Cup match is so special.

"I love sport, and I also love fashion and self-expression. That's why I'm supporting Stadia 2 Street. It is all about owning your fandom - wearing your team colours however you want. Glam, quirky, chic, bold - it's all valid.

"And we're not just talking about it… we're attempting a world record for the most simultaneous selfies - celebrating women expressing their sport fandom through fashion.

"On International Women's Day, right before the Australia vs Korea Republic game, at exactly 7:30pm AEDT, we'll all take and post a selfie at the same moment.

"So, whether you're repping Australia, Korea, or any team at all - show us your look. This is open to everyone! Get involved. Be loud. Be proud. Be stylish.

"Sunday, 8 March. 7:30pm. Set your alarm. Let's make history, all wearing it our own way for Stadia 2 Street!"

Women's Sport Lead at NSW Office of Sport Kerry Turner said:

"Stadia 2 Street creates a positive, creative way for women and girls to show up, express themselves and feel part of the women's sport movement.

"We know that confidence, identity and belonging play a critical role in keeping girls engaged in sport and I'm encouraging as many people as possible to take part in our world record selfie attempt to show your support for women in sport."
