There are already plenty of CPD courses for dental professionals in Australia. That's not really the issue. If anything, there's too many in different places.
The problem is more how people actually come across them.
A lot of it is scattered. Some courses sit on provider websites that you only find if you already know the name. Others get sent through email lists, or mentioned in passing, or shared last minute. Sometimes you hear about something after it's already full, which happens more than it probably should.
So it's less about access, more about visibility.
The CPD Hub (or DentalCPDCourse.com.au) came out of that.

It's not a course provider and it's not trying to act like one. It just lists courses from different providers in one place. That's the whole idea. Instead of jumping between sites or trying to remember where you saw something, you can just look through what's available in one spot.
There's a mix of topics. Clinical courses, compliance-related training, infection control, practice management, that sort of thing. Nothing unusual there — it reflects what's already out there. The difference is just how it's organised.
You can filter by location, topic, and whether something is online or in person. It's pretty straightforward, not overloaded with features. Just enough to cut down the time it takes to go from "I need CPD hours" to actually finding something relevant.
That time factor is a big part of it. Most practitioners aren't spending hours browsing for courses. It's usually done in between everything else, or pushed to the last minute. So making it quicker matters more than adding complexity.
On the other side, course providers can list their own programs. That part ended up being important, especially for smaller or independent educators who don't always have a big reach. It gives them another way to be seen without relying entirely on their own channels.
It's not trying to change how CPD works. The courses, providers, and requirements are all the same as before.
This just sits in the middle and makes it easier to see what's going on.
