ImAlive brings daily welfare-check app to Australians living alone

ImAlive, a welfare-check and check-in app for people who live alone, is now available to Australians. The app prompts users for a simple daily check-in; if a person does not confirm they are okay, a nominated family member, friend or carer is automatically alerted — turning a missed moment into a timely knock on the door.

With almost one in four Australian households now made up of a single person, and an ageing population placing growing pressure on aged-care and community welfare services, ImAlive offers a low-cost, low-effort safety net for older Australians living independently, adult children caring for ageing parents from a distance, and anyone managing a health condition on their own.

"For people living alone, the scariest gap is the silence — the hours or days before anyone realises something is wrong," said Sachin Anand, Founder of ImAlive. "ImAlive closes that gap. You check in once a day. If you don't, the people who care about you know straight away. It gives independence back to the person and peace of mind to their family."

How it works

- The user receives a daily check-in prompt and confirms they're okay with a single tap.

- If the check-in is missed, ImAlive escalates and alerts a pre-set contact.

- Family members and carers can monitor multiple people they care for from one place.
