Integration of Exabyte Hardware and CA Software Provides Enterprise Market with High-Density, Easy-to-Manage Data Backup
Exabyte Corporation (NASDAQ: EXBT), a performance and value leader in tape backup systems, announced today that its new Magnum20 LTO tape library has been certified for use with selected BrightStor storage management solutions from Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA). The certification applies to CAs acclaimed data availability solutions, including BrightStor ARCserve 2000 and BrightStor ARCserve Backup v9 for Windows and NetWare, as well as BrightStor Enterprise Backup software on Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, and Tru64 operating systems.
The Exabyte Magnum20 tape library provides the best scalability, density and price/performance for midrange storage applications. Magnum20 provides users with affordable automated access to as few as 2 drives and 30 cartridges, but provides them with the added benefit of being able to scale up to 8 drives and 150 cartridges slots without any additional investment in their tape library. When configured with all 8 tape drives and 150 cartridges, Magnum20 provides up to 30TB of capacity and throughput of up to 864GB/hr., all in a chassis that occupies only 20 rack-units of space. With a base price MSRP of $16,499, Magnum20 cuts the cost of data storage by more than 50%.
