SBM Marketing Communications will become Lumitas from July 1, marking the next chapter in the company's growth.

The rebrand reflects a broader transformation already underway across the business, which includes expanding communications and creative capabilities, investment in proprietary technology, AI-enabled workflows, new facilities and an integrated delivery model spanning Australia and Chennai.

The move brings together creative, communications, production and technology into one connected team designed to help organisations navigate an increasingly complex marketing landscape.

Built for Modern Marketing

The name Lumitas draws inspiration from the concepts of light (Lumen) and truth (Veritas), reflecting the business's heritage in photography and creative production and its communication and PR capabilities.

But more broadly, it's a reflection of a business that has moved far beyond the original name. What started as a pre-press trade house for the printing and graphic arts industry in the 1970s has evolved into broader business spanning creative and content creation, public relations, production, marketing technology and digital solutions.

While marketing is more connected than ever, many organisations still manage a patchwork of agencies, specialist providers and technology platforms to deliver what should be a unified outcome. Marketing teams also face increasing pressure to produce more content, move faster and demonstrate greater value from every investment. Lumitas was built to help solve that challenge.

Most recently, the company completed a major redevelopment of its Silverwater headquarters and production studio, in a modern, integrated environment while expanding its photography capabilities and creating dedicated spaces for clients to collaborate onsite.

This follows Lumitas' Melbourne studio's move to the Morris Moor precinct in Moorabbin, making it one of Victoria's largest creative production facilities. The business has also invested in new offices for its Chennai team, which for more than 15 years has operated as a fully integrated extension of the Australian business, providing additional scale, flexibility and specialist capability while maintaining a single standard of quality.

Together, these investments have created a connected operating model spanning Sydney, Melbourne and Chennai, giving clients access to broader capability, greater flexibility and a single standard of delivery.
