Fitness Cartel get pumped with Fusion Signage

Announcement posted by Fusion Signage 07 Jul 2026

Fitness Cartel has rolled out the Fusion Signage digital signage software solution across its rapidly expanding network, giving the Australian fitness brand a more scalable, flexible and commercially effective way to manage screen-based communications across its gyms, clubs and wellness locations.

The project came about when Fusion Signage reseller Ampd Electronics was approached to provide AV services for Fitness Cartel, which at the time was using a less effective signage platform tied to a specific TV and display manufacturer.

That existing setup limited the company's options when it came to choosing commercial signage displays and created unnecessary complexity as the business continued to grow. Working closely with Fusion Signage MD James Ingram, Ampd Electronics presented Fitness Cartel with a range of scenarios built around Fusion Signage and alternative display options, clearly demonstrating the long-term cost benefits as well as the operational advantages of moving to a more open and scalable platform.

Fitness Cartel Australia systems and platforms Specialist Sharon Perryman explained, "That proposition landed at exactly the right time for Fitness Cartel. With our business expanding quickly we were looking for an integration partner and digital signage solution capable of scaling with us and supporting us over the long term. The combination of Ampd Electronics and Fusion Signage offered us more than just a software replacement, it offered us a full solution."

Today, Ampd Electronics support Fitness Cartel with audio, video and lighting throughout their gyms and clubs, along with digital signage design, supply and installation, plus the networking and infrastructure required to underpin the broader AV environment.

The scale of the rollout is significant. Fitness Cartel now has digital signage deployed across all 20 of its locations, comprising 17 Fitness Cartel clubs and three Merse Wellness Spas, with more openings planned this year.

The company is running more than 280 Fusion Signage Pro licences and in most cases uses displays running Fusion Signage directly on-chip, reducing the need for additional hardware. In applications involving integrated video distribution or projectors, Ampd Electronics provides and installs media players to ensure the same smooth and consistent user experience.

For Fitness Cartel, the move to the Fusion Signage solution addressed a very specific need: replacing a costly and increasingly restrictive legacy platform with something that would allow for easier management and future growth.

According to Sharon Perryman, the previous setup made it difficult to manage content across the network because, amongst other limitations, different locations required different logins and as the company expanded, that became increasingly inefficient. She explained, "Fitness Cartel previously had Magic Info and had multiple logins for different locations. It was hard to manage as we'd constantly have to login to different accounts. We've grown to 20 locations now, with more opening this year and at this size and scale the Fusion Signage solution is far more efficient and effective than anything we've used before."

Fusion Signage has given Fitness Cartel a much more centralised and practical workflow. From the Support Office Marketing Team content can now be scheduled into playlists, removing the need to constantly add and delete content manually when campaigns change. The team can also see which screens are offline, proactively contact clubs to help bring them back online and troubleshoot issues. That visibility is especially important for a fast-growing, multi-site business where consistency of messaging and uptime matter across every location.

The platform is now also deeply embedded in the company's day-to-day operations, not just as a signage tool but as a communications and engagement platform. Fitness Cartel uses Fusion Signage extensively for advertising and promotion, including campaigns for in-club events, apparel, supplements, member feedback, shake-of-the-month offers, cafe shake menus and special offers.

It is also used for Group Fitness timetables via QR code widgets, major events using Google Sheet integrations, support office communications and sales dashboards in both head office and membership sales offices through IGNITIT.

In the Merse Wellness Spa locations, the screens are used to display services menus and promotions, while the business has also explored opportunities for external partners to advertise within its clubs.

One of the most practical strengths of the deployment is the way Fitness Cartel has structured its workflows. Most clubs operate with up to three playlists - landscape, portrait and group fitness timetable - with main playlists feeding content into each one. That means the team can update a single playlist and have the changes flow through to every location at once, dramatically simplifying campaign execution.

The business also uses Google Sheet integration to keep the support office team informed about upcoming projects and events across the company, including a live "days left" column. Support office profile screens help new staff quickly learn who people are and what they do, which is particularly useful in a business where the support office team has grown from 10 people to over 50 in just a couple of years.

The ability to manage campaigns at speed and scale has given Fitness Cartel a clear operational and marketing edge. Countdown timers for new club launches and major refurbishments help build anticipation among prospective and existing members. Synchronous playback features enable multiple screens to show images or videos at exactly the same time. This allows for screens with the same content playing to all change and display in unison, or screens in a menu board to have content flowing from one to the next.

Fitness Cartel use synchronisation to ensure multiple screens around their gym are all playing the same content at exactly the same time, creating a more immersive in-club visual experience and Fusion Signage's synchronisation works in a very logical fashion. You can create a sync group, add multiple screens to this group and hit publish. The screens will do the rest, ensuring content is kept in sync after each file plays. If your media isn't the same length, the other screens will wait then continue on within the playlist. If internet connectivity is an issue, there is even a local sync server option for most devices. This is ideal for menu boards with content flowing from one screen to the next, or multi-screen displays to play in unison.

The system also allows quick testing and approvals, with the Fitness Cartel team able to publish designs or features directly to executive office screens for immediate feedback.

Just as importantly, the simplicity of Fusion Signage has stood out. Perryman describes the platform as easy to use, easy to scale and easy to manage, while the system-on-chip model has brought additional benefits by reducing hardware requirements saying, "Having System on Chip Fusion Signage running directly on the commercial displays means less hardware, which is a big win."

Compared with other solutions on the market, that ease of use has been a major differentiator. Fitness Cartel's shift from Magic Info to Fusion Signage has made it possible to update and schedule a single playlist and have those changes reflected across multiple sites, while integrations such as Google Sheets have added further utility.

For a business managing hundreds of screens across a geographically distributed network, those efficiencies translate into tangible value.

The real wow factor, however, is the immediacy and impact of the content delivery. High-resolution displays help capture members' attention, but it is the speed and simplicity of the platform that elevates the result.

Sharon Perryman concluded, "With Fusion Signage, Fitness Cartel can change artwork and have it appear almost instantly across more than 200 screens in 20 locations, creating a powerful and unified brand presence across our clubs. This creates and adds significant value for us."

For the digital signage market, the Fitness Cartel project is a strong example of how open, scalable software combined with experienced integration support can unlock both operational and commercial value. Rather than being constrained by a manufacturer-specific ecosystem, Fitness Cartel now has a flexible signage environment that supports growth, simplifies management and strengthens the customer experience across every site.
