From Tamworth to Christmas trees across NSW and Queensland

Announcement posted by Creating Focus 19 Aug 2026

Hillview prepares for its biggest season yet

Just outside Tamworth, thousands of Christmas trees are being carefully grown, shaped and prepared for a journey that will see them become part of family Christmas celebrations across New South Wales and Queensland, while raising valuable funds for local community groups along the way.

Hillview Christmas Trees is preparing for its 2026 season, continuing a model that sees its locally grown Christmas trees distributed to community groups at sales locations across NSW and Queensland.

The process begins well before Christmas. Over many years, the trees are grown and individually pruned at Hillview, just outside Tamworth, to create the traditional shape families know and love. As Christmas approaches, the trees are harvested before being transported hundreds of kilometres to designated community sales locations.

Rather than opening the farm directly to the public, Hillview works with community groups who manage the sales at each location, giving them an opportunity to raise funds while bringing real Christmas trees to families within their own communities.

Last year alone, $17,000 was donated to community groups through Hillview Christmas Tree sales, and this year the team is hoping to make an even greater contribution.

Hillview Christmas Trees' Kim Sizer said knowing the trees grown throughout the year near Tamworth eventually support communities across two states made the busy Christmas season particularly rewarding.

"There is a lot that happens before one of our trees ends up in someone's home at Christmas. We spend the year growing and pruning them here just outside Tamworth, then when the season arrives, they're harvested and transported to our community sales locations across NSW and Queensland," Kim said.

"What we really love about the model is that the community groups are part of the process. They sell the trees locally and benefit from those sales, so a family's Christmas tradition is also helping support an organisation within their own community."

"Last year we were able to give $17,000 back through the program, which was an incredible result. We'd love to grow that again this year and see an even greater amount go back into these communities."

While customers may only see their Christmas tree for a few weeks each December, producing it is a year-round undertaking. The trees require ongoing care and regular pruning before the final rush of harvesting, preparation and distribution begins.

For Hillview, that journey, from a paddock outside Tamworth to homes across NSW and Queensland, is what makes the Christmas season special.

"It's lovely to think that something we've spent so much time growing here eventually becomes the centre of someone's Christmas celebrations hundreds of kilometres away," Kim said.

"But knowing it has also helped a community group along the way makes it mean even more."

Hillview Christmas Trees will announce its 2026 sales locations and dates across NSW and Queensland ahead of this year's Christmas season.
