Sydney, Australia - August 31, 2026 - Midea, one of the world's largest home appliance and smart home technology companies, has today launched its new Space Master refrigerator range in Australia, featuring significantly larger internal capacity than other models with a similar size footprint, to address the changing needs of Australian homes. Also featuring an Infinite Door Bin and Shelf System for flexible internal organisation, Vario Zone temperature control to keep food fresher longer and an Auto Ice function, the Midea Space Master Range is designed with space, flexibility and convenience at its core.
Midea's Space Master technology comes in the form of a 20% thinner fridge wall utilising proprietary SlimFoam Technology and CompactCore Design. It means that in internal space for the Quad Door model is maximised to a massive 706L capacity with dimensions offering traditionally 550-650L capacity in other models, easily accommodating two weeks' worth of bulk groceries and stacked meal prep containers.
The launch comes at a time when Australians homes are changing, with one in five Australians now living in a multigenerational household, a figure which increases in capital cities as adult children stay home longer2. Research also reveals that 33% of Australian households own two or more4 refrigerators due to capacity needs, even though energy costs and food waste continue to be major costs for Australian families.
