Nexxis Technology completes acquisition of BladeBUG to expand its global wind and renewable-energy capabilities

PERTH, AUSTRALIA and LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM | 2nd September 2026— Nexxis Technology today announced that it has completed the acquisition of BladeBUG, a UK-based robotics company developing advanced solutions for wind turbine inspection and maintenance. 

The acquisition marks an important step in Nexxis Technology's international growth strategy. It expands the company's capabilities in the global wind and renewable-energy markets while bringing together complementary robotic technologies, engineering expertise and customer networks. 

BladeBUG has developed a suction-based robotic platform designed to move across wind turbine blades and other non-ferrous or composite surfaces. Nexxis Technology's Magneto robotic platform uses electromagnetic adhesion to operate on ferrous metal structures. 

Bringing these capabilities together will allow the combined business to address a wider range of surfaces, assets and operating environments. Nexxis also plans to integrate its modular system architecture, artificial intelligence, machine vision and data capabilities into future product development. 

The acquisition will strengthen the companies' ability to deliver robotic solutions that improve inspection quality, reduce human exposure to hazardous work and provide better data for asset owners and operators.

The combined engineering teams will explore opportunities to connect BladeBUG's suction-based adhesion technology with Nexxis' Magneto electromagnetic technology and modular robotic architecture. This approach is intended to support robotic inspection across ferrous, non-ferrous and composite surfaces, creating broader applications within wind energy and other asset-intensive industries.

The acquisition has now been completed. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
