The Italian equipment maker, which has been manufacturing professional espresso machines since 1927, received its certification from B Lab following a rigorous assessment process. La Marzocco achieved a B Impact Score of 84.4 -- above the 80-point threshold required for certification and significantly higher than the median score of 50.9 recorded for ordinary businesses.

The certification evaluates companies across five impact areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers. Rather than assessing products in isolation, the B Impact Assessment considers the overall conduct and practices of the business as a whole.
