Breakfast With The Lord Mayor Hosted By Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce

Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner will address the city's business community on Thursday, 15 October 2026, providing insight into Brisbane's infrastructure pipeline, economic priorities and long-term growth strategy as the city continues a period of sustained expansion.

BRISBANE, QLD - With billions of dollars in infrastructure investment underway and Brisbane's economy now exceeding $200 billion, local businesses are being encouraged to position themselves for the opportunities emerging across the city's next phase of growth.

The Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce (BNCC) will host its annual Breakfast with the Lord Mayor from 7:00am to 10:00am on Thursday, 15 October 2026 at Water's Edge, Hamilton. The event will bring together business and community leaders to hear directly from the Lord Mayor on the city's future.

Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said he was looking forward to speaking with local businesses as the city entered an exciting new phase of growth.

"Brisbane's economy has now passed $200 billion and we are one of the fastest-growing capital cities in the country, creating real opportunities for local businesses," Lord Mayor Schrinner said.

"Through our economic priorities and city-shaping projects like the Brisbane Metro, we are backing that growth and keeping our city a great place to do business and invest.

"I am looking forward to sharing our plans directly with the business community at this year's breakfast, and I want to thank the Brisbane North Chamber of Commerce for bringing everyone together for such a great cause."

Brisbane is one of Australia's fastest-growing capital city economies, supported by strong population growth and expansion across construction, tourism, professional services, technology and innovation. Major infrastructure projects, including the Brisbane Metro, Victoria Park precinct redevelopment, and Northshore Hamilton, are already reshaping how the city moves, works and invests.

This is further supported by the Queensland Government's 2032 Delivery Plan, which outlines more than $7 billion in Games-related venue infrastructure across Southeast Queensland, alongside a broader pipeline of transport and city-shaping projects already in progress.

BNCC President Simon Penrose said the event provides a rare opportunity for local businesses to hear directly from city leadership about what is coming next.

"Brisbane is in the middle of a once-in-a-generation economic shift, and that brings both opportunity and pressure for local businesses," Mr Penrose said.

"Breakfast with the Lord Mayor is a great opportunity for our business community to hear the Lord Mayor's perspective on Brisbane's infrastructure and investment priorities, which is information that can meaningfully shape business decisions." Explained Mr Penrose. "Understanding where Brisbane is heading can help businesses make smarter decisions today."

At the event, Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner will outline Brisbane City Council's economic priorities and vision for the city.

The event will also support The Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust, with a portion of proceeds contributing to its ongoing community programs across Brisbane.
