LONGSTANDING ZARRAFFA’S FRANCHISEES RETURN TO SPRINGWOOD WITH NEW DRIVE THRU

The Springwood store marks the next chapter for the franchise group, whose Zarraffa's story spans almost 20 years with the brand collectively and across 6 stores for the group, currently in Queensland at Currumbin, Ferry Road, Heathwood, Hendra, Sugarland and now Springwood.

The new site marks a relocation of the group's former Chatswood Road store, which served the community for 14 years before closing in 2025 to make way for the transition to Zarraffa's latest iteration of its innovative drive thru model, offering greater convenience for the local community.  

Zarraffa's CEO Marnie Sheldon said the opening was a strong example of the long-term partnerships and community connections that underpin the brand's success.

Mayur, Hemal and Mona first joined the Zarraffa's network back in 2006, with Rupa and Nik joining the group in 2011. 

Together, they have grown from operating their first store in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, Queensland, to building a successful multi-site portfolio across the state, while remaining closely connected to their local communities and store teams to deliver memorable customer experiences.

Franchisee Mayur Patel shared his sentiments on the store opening.

"Springwood has always held a special place for us because of the strong relationships we have built throughout the 14 years we served the community at Chatswood Road and became part of their daily routines," he said.

"When the store closed, we had always hoped we would have the opportunity to return and now we're excited to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new customers through the drive thru, this time offering even more convenience."

The Springwood store opening reflects the evolution of Australia's growing coffee culture and the Zarraffa's brand over the past three decades, with the transition to drive thru sites a focus for the specialty coffee company in line with its growth plans.

Thoughtfully designed with a smaller footprint than a traditional store, the format allows for greater flexibility in site selection while still prioritising greater convenience for coffee lovers and busy customers on-the-go.

Since its introduction in 2023, the model has evolved from a purely drive thru concept to now include a walk up service window and area, creating additional accessibility for customers who like to stretch their legs while maintaining speed of service.

Unlike a full-service store, this drive thru design is focused on delivering efficiency, convenience and adaptability across both metro and high-growth suburban locations.

Franchisee Hemal Keniya said continuing to grow with Zarraffa's has always been driven by people.

"After almost 20 years, we're still learning every day. What has never changed, is the connection we have with our customers," he said.

"We have celebrated birthdays, weddings, new babies and holidays with people who started out simply ordering a coffee. Those genuine relationships are what make this business so rewarding and worth reinvesting in."

The new Springwood store represents the sixth store for the group and continues a journey that has spanned almost two decades of growth, innovation and community connection.

The store will feature Zarraffa's renowned range of signature coffee blends, alongside a selection of food options including its freshly baked in store items, breakfast offerings and snacks crafted to complement the coffee experience.

The store is expected to create up to 25 new local jobs, with a focus on staff training and development opportunities as part of the group's ongoing growth. 

Leading the way in retail coffee innovation, the Australian owned and operated brand is celebrating 30 years and continues to grow towards its goal of expanding to 200 sites nationally by 2032.
