DiUS achieves AWS AI Competency for generative and agentic AI consulting services

Announcement posted by DiUS 22 Sep 2026

AWS validation reflects DiUS’ work helping organisations move beyond experimentation as AI begins to reshape products, platforms and existing technology estates.

Melbourne, Australia, 22 September 2026 - DiUS, an Australian technology consultancy and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Tier Services Partner, today announced it has achieved the AWS AI Competency in both Generative AI Consulting Services and Agentic AI Consulting Services.

The AWS AI Competency recognises partners with demonstrated technical expertise and proven customer success delivering AI solutions into production on AWS. The competency was expanded in late 2025 to include agentic AI, as organisations began moving towards systems that can reason, use tools and take action across business workflows.

For DiUS, the achievement comes as the AI services market moves into a different phase.

Early demand centred heavily on models, proofs of concept and individual productivity tools. DiUS is now seeing organisations ask broader questions:

How products and platforms should be architected around AI?

Does AI change the economics of modernising existing systems?

Which complex problems can now be solved differently?

How customer experiences change when software can act rather than simply respond?

Across each, the challenge extends well beyond choosing a model. AI needs to work with existing systems and trusted data, operate within clear permissions and boundaries, and be evaluated, monitored and governed according to the work it is doing.

"We're seeing the AI conversation change quickly," said Joe Losinno, Co-Founder at DiUS. "The first phase was largely about adoption, individual use cases and proving value through PoCs. Now the conversation is shifting to how AI changes the architecture, delivery model and economics around the work itself, from modernising existing platforms to designing products around agents and rethinking workflows when software can take action.

"Those are engineering and organisational questions as much as AI questions. The AWS AI Competency is independent validation of capability we've been building for years. What matters for our clients is whether we can make AI useful, controlled and operable inside the environment they already have, while building capability their own teams can keep using."

AI is changing more than the feature set

DiUS sees some of the strongest opportunities where AI changes the surrounding system rather than simply adding another feature. Organisations are bringing together agents, data, applications and cloud platforms in new ways, making software, data and platform engineering as important as the AI itself.

In modernisation, AI is also changing what is practical in existing technology estates. Codebase analysis, business-rule extraction, test generation and migration work can be accelerated, helping teams understand brownfield systems and make better-informed decisions about what to refactor, replatform, replace or retire.

At the same time, AI's ability to interpret intent and take action is beginning to reshape customer experiences and the way digital services themselves are designed.

At the same time, organisations are tackling more complex AI products and services, while AI is starting to change customer engagement and experience. As software begins to interpret intent and take action, SaaS and digital businesses are reconsidering the shape of the interface to their services.

Building on a long AWS and AI relationship

DiUS has been working with AWS cloud since 2012, alongside more than a decade of work across machine learning, software engineering, data and connected systems.

The AWS AI Competency adds to DiUS' existing AWS Machine Learning and IoT Competencies and continues the evolution of its work with AWS from cloud and machine learning into generative and agentic AI.

In 2025, DiUS and AWS also signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement focused on accelerating generative and agentic AI adoption in Australia. At the time, DiUS set out to help organisations move from identifying the right AI opportunities through to building, improving and scaling production systems.

Since then, the collaboration has supported DiUS in accelerating customer journeys from assessment and use-case prioritisation through to implementation on Amazon Bedrock and production deployment. The AWS AI Competency provides further validation of the technical capability behind that work.

Today, DiUS works with organisations across three connected areas:

designing and building AI products and platforms;

using AI to understand and modernise existing systems; and

redesigning software delivery around AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC) principles, using spec-driven workflows, agents, automated guardrails and human review to make AI-assisted delivery repeatable and measurable.

Across all three, the focus is the same: moving beyond what AI can demonstrate in isolation and building systems that hold up in the realities of an organisation's architecture, workflows, security requirements and people.
