Polycom KIRK 5040 provides support for Bluetooth headsets
Sydney, 6 August, 2008 - Wavelink Communications today released the Polycom
KIRK 5040 DECT handset. The addition of the KIRK 5040 further enhances the
strong portfolio of DECT handsets offered by Polycom.
The 5040 builds on the success of the 5020 handset by adding support for Bluetooth
headsets. The 5040 also boasts a sleek silver face in place of the 5020’s black.
Jonathan Ordman, director of Wavelink said, “With around 55,000 Polycom KIRK
DECT handset users in Australia and New Zealand, there has been a strong demand
for a DECT handset that supports Bluetooth. Priced identically to the 5020, the 5040
handset meets that need, further reinforcing Polycom as a leading supplier of

Designed to operate on Polycom’s range of KIRK DECT systems which provide
wireless extensions to traditional and VoIP voice platforms, the lightweight (110g) yet
robust 5040 delivers 15 hours talk time and 100 hours standby battery life.
Additional features of the Polycom KIRK 5040 include:
> eight line colour display with intuitive navigation
> 250 entry phone book with four numbers per entry
> storage capability for up to 20x72-character text messages
> ability to integrate with business messaging applications
> hands-free loudspeaker
> vibrating ringer
