Announcement posted by The digiDirect Group 13 Oct 2026
The digiDirect Group, the business collective, which owns major Australian retailers Booktopia, digiDirect, James Bennett and Mwave, has staged its annual Retail & Logistics Leaders Conference, laying out the company's ambitious plans over the next 12 months and beyond.
Held at the InterContinental Sydney, the Conference saw more than 85 staff in attendance across a two day event aimed at fostering connection, creativity, inspiration and celebration. The team and their partners heard from The digiDirect Group's business leaders, who reviewed the year that was FY26 and discussed the strategies that will drive the businesses forward in FY27, focusing on brand, technology, product and customer excellence at the heart of the business' core proposition.
"We know who we are and who we aren't, and are ready to accept the challenge of making more customers identify with us in a deeper way moving forward," said Haig Kayserian, Director of Retail & Logistics at The digiDirect Group.
The company shared its roadmap for success, looking ahead to 2028 and beyond with plans to enhance a number of key business units and solidify The digiDirect Group's retailers as premier destinations for creating rich, specialist suites of products and experiences for customers and partners, through its network of retail, hospitality, property and health businesses.
Key supplier partners for the Conference program included Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Fujifilm Instax, Nikon, Panasonic Lumix, OM System, Gigabyte, Ingram Micro, SanDisk, Leader Computers, C.R Kennedy, Lexar, Shippit, StarTech.com, Palit Microsystems, Ubiquiti and XFX. While each partner had its own role on the program agenda, for the first time, The digiDirect Group also staged the first digiDirect and Mwave expo as part of the Conference. This initiative gave partners another channel and opportunity to get their brand and products in front of a number of key store personnel, to help elevate sales initiatives.
The Conference agenda also welcomed engaging guest speakers to inspire staff to hone their skills and consider the art of the possible beyond their day-to-day work. Acclaimed author Tim Duggan shared his insights and strategies for harnessing the power of listening, clarity in communication and resolving conflict. Meanwhile, Reid Nakou, Chief Experience Officer at award-winning agency, The General Store, spoke about The Future of Retail, highlighting global innovation in the sector and key themes and principles that will shape its future.
Shant Kradjian, Founder, Chairman and CEO of The digiDirect Group, said: "Our Leaders Conference provides a pivotal moment in the calendar to unite our team, outline our goals and align on what is important for our group of businesses to thrive. It has been another big year of growth and we were delighted to celebrate our successes and ready ourselves for some exciting months ahead."
Kayserian added: "It's always a proud moment to bring our staff together to reflect on our journey and successes. We have made significant progress this year with a commitment to grow and innovate with an exceptional amount of work delivered by the team to push the boundaries and unlock some new and exciting opportunities, all designed to provide a better experience for our customers."
Sina Clayton, Director, Finance & Operations of The digiDirect Group, added: "We are thankful for our stellar network of supplier partners who play such an important part in the way we do business and shape our go-to market strategies. Once again, I'd like to thank each partner for their active participation in the conference agenda and their long-standing commitment to supporting us in driving our business units forward."
The Conference coincided with digiDirect celebrating 21 years in business at the glamorous Cardea Sydney with a trivia night rounded out the second day of proceedings at The Oriana Sydney.
Further exciting business updates will be announced in the coming weeks.
