New Centre Provides Dedicated Internet Security Protection With Global Support
Symantec, the world leader in Internet security, today announced the global expansion of Symantec's Managed Security Services through the opening of an Australian Security Operations Centre (SOC). Symantec's Managed Security Services practice offers a broad range of security services including monitoring and management of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, routers, VPNs, vulnerability scanners, antivirus and policy compliance to provide the most comprehensive security solution for its managed security services customers, independent of vendor relationships.
Based at Symantec's Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Sydney, Australia, the SOC will provide Symantec's Australian Managed Security Services clients with security monitoring, management and response. Symantec's SOCs are among the most advanced security facilities in the world, protecting some of the largest enterprise organisations from hacking attacks, viruses, intrusions and other forms of cyber threats, 24 hours per day, seven days a week. The Australian SOC is one of six around the world with other facilities located in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan.
"Symantec opened the Australian SOC in response to our customers' need for managed security services ensuring a dedicated, highly skilled security team is protecting their business at all times," said John Donovan, managing director, Symantec Australia and New Zealand. "With around-the-clock security monitoring and response, Symantec's security analysts enhance an organisation's information security posture and help defend against ever-evolving and emerging threats."
"Today's complex business environment presents increasing challenges to businesses aiming to protect networked information assets without compromising business goals," said Charlie Johnson, vice president, Worldwide Symantec Security Services. "Symantec Managed Security Services can identify potential threats and take preventative action before an attack becomes widespread. This enables organisations to adjust defences for optimal protection of mission-critical assets."
With hundreds of customers across a variety of industries such as business services, financial services, technology, manufacturing, and healthcare, Symantec is committed to protecting the existing investments in customer environments. Symantec's team of experienced consultants provide worldwide response capabilities and support for both Symantec products, as well as security products from leading third party vendors, offering vendor neutrality across a range of platforms.
Part of Symantec Security Services, Symantec Managed Security Services allows organisations to protect their networked assets by leveraging Symantec's information security experts, along with the company's formidable security intelligence and response capabilities. With around-the-clock monitoring and response at Symantec Security Operations Centres, security analysts deliver cost-effective, managed security services that maximises an organisation's return on investment in security technology and internal resources.
