Australian Banks Offered ATM Advertising

Announcement posted by i-design 20 Jul 2009

UK company, i-design launches in Australian market
SYDNEY – 20 July, 2009 UK company, i-design, today announced its entry into the Australian market with its world-leading ATM advertising and interface design solutions developed specifically for the banking self-service industry.

Among the first of its solutions to be made available to Australian customers is atmAd, the market’s only platform independent, end-to-end advertising solution designed specifically for Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs). atmAd is proven to generate substantial new revenues for ATM network owners, such as retail banks, from internal and third party advertising campaigns across their ATM estates.

Uniquely, atmAd is able to deliver third party advertising campaigns simultaneously across an aggregated network of ATMs belonging to a variety of major high-street banks. The end-to-end solution is already delivering high impact, targeted one-to-one advertising messages across over 700 million transactions per annum. i-design’s third party revenue generation service also provides a fully managed service to the Australian self service market.

Commenting on the company’s announcement Ana Stewart, CEO of i-design said, “We are very excited by the interest that has been shown by the individual banking networks in Australia. They have already seen atmAd successfully deliver new advertising revenues on behalf of major network owners in the UK. For the majority of Australian bank customers, the ATM is the most used banking channel for accessing cash and the only regular contact point between bank and customer so our solution will allow networks to make the most of their self-service channel.”

Launched in 2004, atmAd is today used by a growing number of leading financial institutions and is
the only media proposition that can deliver brand campaigns seamlessly across multiple bank ATM environments without elongating the transaction. The company has supported atmAd campaigns from some of the world’s biggest brands including Vodafone, Coca Cola, British Airways, Orange, Nivea, Nestle and Hewlett Packard amongst others.

“atmAd is the industry benchmark in third party ATM advertising and has proven success in customer satisfaction and generating revenues for banks and delivering targeted communication opportunities for advertisers. Our commitment to the Australian market will ensure that banks are able to leverage the benefits of atmAd’s unique end-to-end technology and third party revenue generation service”, Stewart explained.

i-design has appointed Steve Newton as Regional Manager for the Asia Pacific region who will be based out of Sydney. Commenting on the company’s entry into the market, Newton said, “Having a direct local presence on-the-ground really reinforces i-design’s commitment to building relationships and expanding its footprint in the Australian market. We see great potential for the financial community here and look forward to engaging with them.”

Third-party advertising sales are provided by i-design via a fully managed media sales service, which requires no additional investment by the financial institution.
