D-Link Expands Channel Sales Team To Meet Growing Demand For Wireless And ADSL Products

D-Link, a designer and manufacturer of networking, data communications, broadband and digital electronic technologies, has expanded its Australian operations, adding three members to its business development team and opening a Brisbane office. Katrina Myles, Michael Florence and Carla Thornton will be responsible for promoting sales of D-Links products through its channel partners.

D-Link has grown revenues by 14% in a flat technology market over the last 12 months. With ADSL and wireless technology taking off in Australia, D-Link has expanded its channel personnel to help resellers take advantage of these opportunities. D-Link demonstrates its commitment to the channel in Australia with sales and marketing, technical support, warehouse and training all provided locally.

New Appointments
D-Link Australia has established a presence in Brisbane with the appointment of Katrina Myles as business development manager. Katrinas role entails servicing D-Links distributors and resellers in Queensland and the Northern Territory, and driving D-Links approach to the education market in those states, with a focus on wireless and broadband technologies. This will include training, product updates and sales support for resellers.

Katrina previously worked for Tech Pacific, where she was business development manager for networking products for 17 vendors, including D-Link. Prior to that she was the government account manager for Connected Solutions Group in Darwin, with major accounts including the United Nations.

Michael Florence has joined the D-Link business development team with ten years experience in technical sales, six of those years in the IT industry. Michael will be responsible for managing relationships with D-Link resellers and distributors and helping them to grow their businesses.

Prior to joining D-Link, Michael was sales manager for Australia and New Zealand for Microtest, a manufacturer of network diagnostic tools, cable test certification instruments and network storage equipment, where he gained broad networking industry experience.

Carla Thornton also joins the D-Link team as a business development manager. She will work with resellers with a special focus on the education market, including implementation of networking technology in public and independent schools and colleges.

Carla has extensive experience working with the channel in her previous positions in business development and product management with Namlea Data Systems (NDS), a data and communications products distributor where her focus was on selling through computer resellers and electrical wholesalers.
