Software Education Welcomes Professor Philippe Kruchten as “Academic in Residence”

Announcement posted by Software Education 26 Jan 2010

Software development training experts, Software Education, welcome Philippe Kruchten, Professor of Software Engineering at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, as their “Academic in Residence” for 2010.

In the first of what the organisation expects will be a series of visiting academics in residence, Professor Kruchten will be joining Software Education in February to provide further expert advice on the enhancement of the organisation’s market-leading software development courses.

First and foremost a professional software engineer with 30 years of industrial experience, Professor Kruchten was lead architect of Rational Software’s internationally-acclaimed software development method, the Rational Unified Process which, he says, captures the many lessons learned in his years as a system developer and as a consultant.

Martyn Jones, Managing Director at Software Education, says of Professor Kruchten’s visit:

“We are delighted to welcome a software engineer of Professor Kruchten’s calibre and reputation to Software Education and look forward to bringing his professional and academic expertise to bear on all aspects of the courses we offer.”

In March, Professor Kruchten will also be at Software Education’s world-class Software Development Conference (SDC) – Business Analysis Gets Agile!, where he will present a keynote on the subject of product backlogs, hold a workshop on iteration and release planning and, in Sydney only, will present a one-day, pre-conference workshop on software architecture for the business analyst.
