D-Link Introduces Weatherproofed Outdoor Day & Night Network Camera

Announcement posted by Bowes Communications 02 Mar 2010

Feature-rich camera equipped with varifocal lens to adjust field of view and built-in infrared LEDs can detect moving objects in total darkness
SYDNEY, Aust. March 1, 2010 D-Link Australia & New Zealand, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for business and consumers, today introduced a new day and night outdoor camera designed for local or remote monitoring with built-in infrared LEDs to monitor and detect moving objects in total darkness at distances up to 50 meters. These and other high-end features, like a varifocal lens for easy field of view adjustment, make the DCS-7510 an ideal solution for 24-hour outdoor surveillance.

Equipped with a high-resolution Sony CCD image sensor, the DCS-7510 camera provides an excellent image quality and level of detail. A built-in Infrared Cut Removable (ICR) filter allows it to capture images in good light, low light and total darkness by switching the infrared cut filter. Embedded with a powerful SoC (System-on-Chip), the camera provides high-quality, real-time video compression in MPEG-4 and motion JPEG formats.

D-Links latest feature-rich network camera is an ideal solution for 24-hour outdoor surveillance without the need for additional artificial lighting, said Maurice Famularo, Marketing Director for D-Link Australia and New Zealand. Users can view high-quality images, remotely monitor their site from their PCs or 3G mobile phones and record footage to a network storage device in real time.

The DCS-7510 is equipped with a varifocal 9~22mm lens supporting both wide-angle and close-up fields of view. The focus and zoom controls are located on the outside of the weatherproof IP66 rated camera case for easy adjustment. The camera also has an auto-iris that automatically adjusts the exposure according to the light conditions for optimum picture quality.

Built-in intelligence enables recording on schedule or specific events like detected motion. Users can also connect the DCS-7510 camera to I/O sensors, and set up the system to send automated e-mail notifications on specific events. For easy installation, the camera comes with built-in 802.3af compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating the need for a nearby power outlet.

A live feed from the camera can be accessed by PCs connected via the network, the Internet or a 3G mobile network by using a compatible mobile phone or PDA with a 3G video player. The bundled D-ViewCam software also allows users to manage and record videos via Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices such as the D-Link DNS-323. Alternatively, the DCS-7510 can record videos to a Network Video Recorder (NVR), such as the D-Link DNS-722-4 or DNS-726-4.
