Devnet launches new store for Google Apps Solutions

Announcement posted by Devnet Pty Ltd 03 Mar 2010

Australia's leading Google partner Devnet is once again pioneering the deployment of Google Apps in Australia with the launch of the Devnet Google Apps Store (www.devnetapps.com), a first of its kind in Australia.

Devnet is also announcing an exclusive Australian and New Zealand distribution agreement with the powerful Google Apps - Microsoft Office solution, Offisync. Offisync allows Microsoft Office users to manage documents and collaborate via Google Docs, providing businesses with a smoother migration to working in the cloud. OffiSync is the Devnet Google Apps Store's foundation third-party application.

"We are very excited to announce a distribution partnership with Devnet to fulfill the demand in the region for our product. Devnet have been in the market the longest and are the leaders in Google Apps solutions and we look forward to the partnership" said Oudi Antebi Founder and CEO OffiSync Corporation.

"Google not only provide an unparalleled suite of its own applications but it is now fostering an amazing ecosystem of complementary applications that extend the core-functionality of the suite," said Devnet CEO Craig Deveson.

"With the Devnet Google Apps Store, we will provide businesses with a 'one stop shop' for building more complete Google-based application environments.

The Devnet Google App Store currently allows customers to subscribe to Google Apps plus a range of value-added services like Postini mail security and archiving, domain names and Google Maps offerings. OffiSync will be added shortly before further applications are progressively added in the coming months. Deveson said that Devnet was in negotiations with a range of third-party application developers and that new cloud solutions which integrate tightly with Google Apps were appearing with increasing frequency.

"Google has the best API's on the Internet and we're only seeing the start of what third-party developers can do with integrating their solutions to Google Apps," said Deveson. "By the end of the year, I would expect there would be few business requirements that we won't be able to meet via the Devnet Google Apps Store."

A key advantage of the Devnet Google Apps Store for Australian businesses is that they can piece together best-of-breed solutions but still maintain a single point of contact for billing and support in their currency of choice.

"Moving to the cloud is all about improving manageability and reducing complexity and overheads. If you're setting up accounts with a whole range of hosted solution providers, you're replacing one kind of management headache with another - as there are significant costs and complexity associated with managing a diverse range of cloud providers, many of whom have little or no support in Australia."

"Even Google relies primarily on web-based support, but Devnet Google Apps Store customers know that our expert support team is only a local phone call away and if needed we can provide on-site support and integration services ."

"We have the most experienced team of Google-skilled engineers in Australia, outside of Google itself, and we can also develop custom solutions for any company that cannot find a third-party solution or integration solution to fit their requirements. When you're moving to a new environment like cloud computing, it's important to know you have access to the support and guidance of an expert Company like ourselves."
