Double the birthday fun on the Sydney Harbour Bridge’s 78th anniversary

Best friends Delilah Adamson and Christina Tesoriero today shared their 18th birthday celebrations with Australia’s Icon on the 78^th anniversary of the SydneyHarbourBridge.

Delilah and Christina, from Maroubra in Sydney were thrilled to share their ‘coming of age’ with the SydneyHarbourBridge’s 78^th birthday and celebrated the occasion by climbing to the summit with BridgeClimb.

The two best friends, who were born just three days apart in the same hospital, met at high school and have been inseparable ever since.

Delilah said, “We wanted to do something different for our 18th, something original, and it seemed so fitting that we share our special day with the Bridge. It will certainly be a birthday that we will remember forever”.

Their Climb group sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Delilah, Christina and the SydneyHarbourBridge when they reached the peak, 134 meters above sea level.

The affectionately named ‘coathanger’ who has 60 years on the two girls today, opened on Saturday 19th March 1932. This allowed Sydney-siders to cross from the north shore directly into the heart of the city for the first time. The official opening day was a momentous occasion, drawing remarkable crowds to the city and the harbour foreshores.
