Leave a footprint in the Bavarian Alps and sleep in a traditional mountain hut in the Tyrol Mountains on a self-guided alpine hike from Garmisch to Innsbruck.
Escape Travel has mapped out an eight-day hike that follows the network of walking trails in Austria and Germany, showcasing alpine terrain, impressive gorges and steep balcony paths along the way.

Hikers will pass the striking Hollental Gorge, visit Schachen Castle, ascend the trails of the Karwendel Mountains, explore the famous Olympic town of Garmisch and stop at the popular Nordkette of Innsbruck.

The hike is priced from $1489* per person twin share, including four nights accommodation in mountain hotels, three nights in mountain huts, breakfast daily, five dinners, luggage transfers from hotel to hotel, route book and maps, and transport on the route.

International airfares are not included.

Departures are scheduled weekly on Sunday from June 27 to September 12, 2010.
