Company Grows ANZ Sales 54 Per Cent in First Quarter and Signs Eight New Partners
Sydney, 23 April 2010 - WatchGuard Technologies, a global leader of business security solutions, today announced that it has increased sales in Australia and New Zealand by 54 per cent for the first quarter of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009 with a raft of new sales wins secured in the state government, private education, utilities and manufacturing sectors.

At the same time, WatchGuard reinforced its channel and partner presence in the first quarter in Victoria and New South Wales signing on Technetics, Advanced Vision Technologies, Hands-On Systems, and Mobile Computer Services to the WatchGuard Secure Partner Program.  This program provides partners with access to higher capacity products, rebates, priority support and other sales and engineering benefits extending the reach of WatchGuard customer and technical support.

Last month, WatchGuard also completed training on its new multifunctional firewall products to more than 30 partners across Australia and New Zealand at a series of events staged in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. Supporting the company’s partners are two new seasoned IT executives who have recently joined the company, including Clive Donde in New Zealand and Robert Collins in Australia, adding more than 30 years’ combined industry experience.

“The March quarter has been a strong start to 2010 not only in terms of revenue but also in the heightened interest for our new XTM 2, 5 and 8 Series as well as the new XCS line of enterprise-class multi-function firewall appliances.

“These new product lines offer market leading network security, mail and content security and data leakage prevention taking WatchGuard beyond being a pure network security provider into a business security company providing a breadth of security technologies.

"We look forward to continuing to focus upon delivering exceptional products and support while maintaining our relationships in the channel in 2010,” said Scott Robertson, ANZ Regional Director, WatchGuard Technologies.
