RDC Releases “Steam Boiler Operations” New Online Operator Training Program as Part of ePILOT

Resource Development Company (RDC) announces the addition of a new web-based learning program on steam boiler operations as part of the ePILOT Core Competency library. With the course, Introduction to Steam Boiler Operations, users will learn about 1) types of steam boilers, 2) water chemistry, and 3) basic operations. This program expandsthe ePILOT fired heatersoperator trainingcontent.

The course is accessible via the internet and covers important topics such as process flow, steam tables, blowdown, thermal shock, and safe warm up. While this program provides learning elements common to all power boilers, this course can be customized with site-specific terms, pictures, drawings and procedures to meet any process facility’s particular requirements.

Additionally, ePILOT is designed to satisfy the training requirements specified by the mandated standards of six different federal agencies including OSHA, DOT, EPA and MMS for safe and environmentally sound operations.

Introduction to Steam Boiler Operations joins the over 150 learning programs in the ePILOT Core Competency Library, over 400 hours of web-based training that can be accessed anytime and anywhere via the internet. The library incorporates industry specific terminology with categories that include: Fundamentals, Equipment, Instrumentation, Maintenance, Process Operations, Production Operations and Process Safety.
