Make TRAX with the latest maps on Uniden GPS

Announcement posted by Write Away Communication 24 May 2010

Uniden has updated its TRAX GPS car navigation systems to make getting from A to B even simpler.

The newly released TRAX 4310 along with the upgraded TRAX 5000 GPS devices combine the latest in GPS technology and software, providing clear voice and visual guidance to all streets, suburbs and points of interest nationwide, using the latest ‘Where-is’ mapping data from Sensis.

The new ‘Where-is’ mapping data (R17) covers more than 99% of Australia’s population and over 1,100,000km of Australian roads including extended rural coverage. The systems are pre-programmed with more than half a million points of interest and can be customised by adding other destinations.

Uniden is renowned for next generation 3D mapping technology and these features return in the TRAX 4310 and 5000 models. Uniden’s 360 Degree 3D Landmark technology enables famous locations such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Queen Victoria Building and SkyTower to be viewed in 3D from any angle. 3D Terrain Software, which shows road elevations and land contours including overpasses and bridges is another key feature. The TRAX 5000 also adds 360 degree 3D City Maps technology which makes it possible to virtually view entire city blocks and identify key areas of interest.

Along with built-in early warning safety systems alerting drivers to fixed speed and red light cameras, there is also an over speed alert, newly added school zone warning, increased lane guidance coverage and additional points of interest making the TRAX Series the ultimate car companion and the journey even simpler and safer.

When it comes to portable GPS car navigation systems, the Uniden TRAX devices are among the easiest to use, ensuring the whole experience is as stress-free as possible.
The TRAX 5000 and 4310 both feature super-bright flat-panel LCD touch screens that automatically switch to night mode for easy, glare-free viewing after dark. These accomplishments have recently been recognised, with the TRAX 5000 being highly commended in the Australian InCar Magazine Awards for 2010.

The Uniden TRAX 5000 and TRAX 4310 are available now from leading electronics retailers and department stores.
