ComOps Secures Software Deployment Contract with Workforce International

Announcement posted by ComOps 31 May 2010

Sydney, 31 May 2010 – ComOps, a leading Australasian provider of business software products and services, today announced that it has secured a contract to deploy its Salvus safety, risk and claims management software at Workforce International, a leading Australian provider of industrial recruitment, labour hire, traffic control and road line marking services for private and public sector clients.

Salvus will be deployed as part of the company’s overall occupational, health and safety strategy servicing the company’s 20 branches throughout Australia. It will enable the company to automate management of safety, risk and claims thereby enabling the organisation to comply with the latest legislation and proactively manage processes for incident reporting.  At the same time, clear historical compliance trails will enable the organisation to lower overall risk and costs for claims management.

Workforce International’s Recruitment and Labour Hire Division provides predominantly blue collar skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled employees on long-term contracts or an hourly hire basis to more than 600 clients, including Qantas, Unilever, Energy Australia, Thiess, Leightons, Pax, Rheem, ACI and Visy.

The company also provides temporary staff to state and local government organisations and is the major traffic line marking contractor to Transport South Australia, MainRoads WA, NT Roads and city and shire councils in both those states. All Workforce International traffic control staff are trained to adhere to strict OH&S guidelines and are required to undergo a comprehensive site safety induction at each new assignment.

The Salvus web-based solution will be implemented across the company’s operations in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia and will replace a time-consuming manual spreadsheet system for managing and reporting on incidents and injuries.

“We reviewed several options but it was pretty clear from the beginning that the Salvus architecture was superior to other solutions in its ease of use, fast deployment and clarity of reporting.  The system will better enable us to drill down through the data and rapidly analyse trends where we may have branch safety issues. We’ll then be able to take faster action to remedy the situation for the benefit our staff,” says Brett Condren, National OHS and Rehabilitation Manager, Workforce International.

Salvus will be rolled out in two distinct phases with the initial claims management and rehabilitation modules being deployed in June, followed by the deployment of the incident analysis module.  The whole system will be operational by the end of August.

“We are deploying Salvus at a time when our company is growing organically and we require increasingly sophisticated systems to support our 1,000 staff and casual employees.  We believe that Salvus will save many hours a week in the reporting and management of incidents and claims,” says Condren.
