Sydney, 31 May 2010 – Lasoo.com.au has launched Australia’s first shopping app for the Apple iPad, allowing consumers to search across hundreds of retail catalogues and thousands of product offers on the device before they head to the shops.
Users of the Lasoo iPad App will be able to conduct their Pre-Shop research by looking up the latest catalogues of their favourite retailers, or simply browsing by product, category or location - all in readiness for a trip to the local shopping centre.
The app takes advantage of the iPad’s 9.7-inch backlit LCD display with a high-resolution catalogue viewer. Users can also search for a specific product or browse by brand, product or retailer and use the built-in store locator with Google Maps to find store locations and opening hours. Thanks to the iPad’s integrated GPS functionality, they will only see products and catalogues that are available in the nearby area.
Users can search offers and catalogues from many of Australia’s favourite retailers, including Target, BIG W, Coles, ALDI, Dick Smith, Myer, Harvey Norman, Fantastic Furniture, Harris Scarfe, Toys R Us and many more.
The Lasoo iPad App builds on the success of the Lasoo iPhone App, which provides similar functionality to iPhone users and has been downloaded over 33,000 times since launching in September 2009. And the iPad App is expected to prove just as popular – it has already been downloaded over 1,500 times and according to a recent survey, 43% of Lasoo.com.au users are planning on purchasing the device. It’s estimated that up to 7.1 million iPads could be sold around the world in 2010.
