Breville Smart Grill wins Australian International Design Award

Announcement posted by Write Away Communication 07 Jun 2010

Breville has received multiple accolades at this year’s Australian International Design Awards, achieving four Design Marks and one Design Award in the highly competitive consumer category.

The Breville Smart Grill™ BGR820 received an Australian International Design Award in recognition of design excellence. Judged by a panel of Australian and international experts, the product was assessed against a number of criteria including innovation, visual and emotional appeal, functionality, quality of manufacture and environmental sustainability.

Judges commented, “A number of product area challenges, including cleanability, have been solved in this feature-packed grill.”

With Element IQ embedded heating elements, the Breville Smart Grill senses a drop in temperature on each individual cooking surface and rapidly responds by injecting heat into either one or both plates for a faster recovery time. Unlike other appliances, the plates can be clipped out and placed in the dishwasher for easy cleaning.

Breville Design and Innovation Director Richard Hoare said of the win, “It’s fantastic for our design team to receive this award from industry peers. With five products nominated as finalists this year, we’re extremely proud of our achievements in the knowledge that these products are also very popular with consumers.”

Breville also received Australian International Design Marks for its Professional 800 Collection Variable Temperature Kettle BKE820, Wizz™ Planetary Mixer BEM800, Fresca Espresso Machine™ BES860 and Smart Oven BOV800.
