Marketing Angel Joins the Regional Development Australia ACT Committee

ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope and Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Maxine McKew appointed ten new Members of the Regional Development Australia ACT Committee including Marketing Angel Jean McIntyre.

Says Jean: “I’m very excited about this opportunity. I was born in Canberra and am passionate about promoting the city and about the opportunity working with the community to build on its strengths to attract the investment and settlement that will make Canberra one of Australia’s great cities.”

Jean has been with Marketing Angels since 2006. She brings to the committee a strong community spirit – currently serving on the boards of Exhibition Park in Canberra and Tandem Respite Inc. She is the immediate past President of the Chamber of Women in Business and also teaches at Canberra Institute of Technology and has delivered sessions on Marketing to Canberra Business Point. Jean has also done voluntary consulting with Lifeline and Snowy Hydro Southcare.

In addition to her community work Jean has a passion for helping Canberra region small businesses get smarter through learning about, planning, investing in and implementing sound marketing strategies – specially tailored for that unique market. She understands the challenges and opportunities facing the small business community in Canberra.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a partnership between the Australian, state and territory and local governments to support the growth and development of Australia's regions. RDA committees build partnerships between governments, regional development organisations, local businesses, community groups and key regional stakeholders to provide strategic and targeted responses to economic, environmental and social issues affecting the regions of Australia.

Jean is proud to be a part of the ACT RDA Committee and is looking forward to using her diverse skills and experience to benefit the Canberra community.
