sendQuick™ SMS gateway to enhance customer relations and reduce IT down time.

Announcement posted by Powertec Telecommunications 28 Jul 2010

Powertec Telecommunications has now started offering the latest in SMS technology with the release of the sendQuick SMS gateway solution.

“The sendQuick SMS solution compliments Powertec’s existing business of least cost routing and mobile wireless solutions, and is set to revolutionise the way SME companies conduct their communications and marketing.

Bruce Williamson who is the General Manager from Powertec says “that the new sendQuick SMS solution offers users a far lower cost of ownership than any other product on the market. Current offerings are generally hosted offsite where many SMS providers only offer a 3rd party access to a bulk service provider, which in many cases does not allow the user total control, or even reply to an individual user.”

“The sendQuick solution allows the users low ongoing maintenance costs, in fact we have seen that many companies that have taken up the product, have never called us for support due to the easy set up and easy ongoing use of the system.”

“The sendQuick gateway is a robust platform and the ease of use and setup was a key factor in our decision to offer the product through our dealer channel” says Bruce Williamson. “In fact, our initial setup of the system was completed with 10 minutes. Further testing of the system confirmed the superior nature of the system over other offerings.”

The last few years has seen a steady uptake in the use of SMS as a real alternative to company communications, customer loyalty programmes and sales activity. One of Australia’s biggest retailers has joined a long list of SMS converts which allows seamless communication to staff using a Microsoft suite of products and a standard mobile phone email. Recent acquisitions have been by cab companies that now offer SMS to alert their customers that their taxi is on their way. This is intuitively done through a web interface linking the SMS gateway directly with the customer at the point of sale.

IT companies have recently seen a popular solution with SMS gateways in the area of system failure and alerting company help desks to reduce, and in some cases eliminate any down time. The small out lay compared to the potential down time a company could experience means that the return on investment is immediate. SMS supports national and international roaming, so it is seen as a universal mobile data service and a perfect solution for critical application that involve IT applications.

The integration of sendQuick to enable email to SMS and SMS to email, combined with the low cost of ownership is a real key factor in the success of the application. Combined with great tariffs from the major carriers on voice and SMS, the opportunity in offering true and reliable SMS communications has truly evolved.
