Frequency Hits a High for 83 Year Old Climber

Announcement posted by BridgeClimb 12 Aug 2010

BridgeClimb Sydney has welcomed their most frequent Climber, 83 year old Lloyd Poulton, for his 30th Climb to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Lloyd chose an exclusive Night Climb for this milestone Climb, taking in the breathtaking views at the summit while the city lights sparkled around him.

Since Lloyd’s first climb in 2001 he has had over 150 photos taken, climbed over 39,000 steps, walked 45 kilometres and spent more than 100 hours scaling the famous Bridge. Lloyd never tires of the experience and has many a comrade amongst BridgeClimb staff.

Lloyd said, “The reason I keep coming back is simply because I enjoy the walk, but also because I enjoy interacting with the staff. The Climb Leaders make a real difference and I have had some excellent guides over the years”.

Lloyd has shared many an occasion with BridgeClimb Sydney, including his birthday last year, but this customer milestone was certainly one the team at BridgeClimb would not let go by unannounced.

Lloyd’s passion for climbing the SydneyHarbourBridge has not waivered and he is already planning his 31st Climb.

With nearly 2.5 million people from over 137 countries having climbed the Bridge since it opened, BridgeClimb is considered a ‘must-do’ tourist attraction in Sydney. Climbers can climb to the summit of this world famous icon on The Bridge Climb, The Discovery Climb or for those who are short on time, The Express Climb.
