Software Education Sponsors Women in Technology - ICT Professional Award

In recognition of the importance of womento the IT industry, Software Education has announced its sponsorship of theWomen in Technology - ICT Professional Award 2010.

This award, established to provide recognition for women who contribute to Queensland's ICT industries through their achievements and commitment to ongoing professional development, carries with it not only peer and industry recognition, but also prizes which include a $3,000 training package from Software Education.

Software Education's Managing Director, Martyn Jones, says of the award:

"Historically, women have been very much underrepresented in the IT industry. I'm delighted to say that this has changed and continues to do so, with the help of organisations such as WiT - organisations committed to smoothing the way for future generations of women ."

Founded in 1997 with the support of just 10 women, WiT is now one of the leading technology associations for women in Australia.The WiT Award ceremony takes place on Saturday 18th September 2010 at the Chifley At Lennons, Brisbane.
