Retail eLearning trailblazer TodayCorp acquires Impart

Announcement posted by TodayCorp Pty Ltd 14 Sep 2005

Australias largest online learning, development and recruitment company TodayCorp Pty Ltd, has acquired privately held Impart Corporation, making TodayCorp the largest company of its kind in the Asia-Pacific and the only end-to-end provider of an integrated online recruitment, training, delivery, measurement and management solution.
TodayCorp will now expand its range of consulting services from staff competency assessment, training gap analysis and accredited training packages, to the integration of learning management systems and recruitment management systems. The expanded range of content services will include software application training, compliance training, accredited skills-based training, retail enterprise training and retail supplier training.
According to TodayCorps chief executive officer Joe Ward, workplace based training delivers clear cut, bottom line benefits through increased sales and productivity, reduced costs and increased compliance.
Compliance, particularly in areas such as occupational health and safety (OH&S), anti-discrimination and financial services reform, are increasingly important aspects of employee training and education as organisations struggle to keep pace in a complex and heavily regulated environment.
Also as the skills shortages bites, employers are recognising that providing staff with ongoing quality training is extremely effective in attracting and retaining good people and are increasingly integrating this into their recruiting and retention strategies, he added.
TodayCorp plans to integrate the products and services of the two companies, focusing on the integration of TodayCorps proprietary Versity platform with Plateau, a Learning Management System (LMS) rated by leading industry analysts including Gartner, Forrester Research and Bersin & Associates as a world leader in LMS functionality, technology and customer satisfaction.
TodayCorp now holds the exclusive distribution rights in the Asia-Pacific for Plateau which is currently being used by some of the worlds largest and most successful organisations, including the American Red Cross, General Electric, Internal Revenue Service and Wendys International.
TodayCorps retail clients include McDonalds, Rebel Sport, Angus & Robertson, Thrifty, The Perfume Connection and Downtown Duty Free. The acquisition of Impart accelerates TodayCorps expansion beyond retail into other verticals including healthcare, financial services, government, telecommunications, hospitality as well as building and construction.
As a result of the acquisition, TodayCorp has acquired a number of government and international clients including Vodafone, the Queensland Government and the Australian Federal Police and is now the largest online learning development and recruitment company in the Asia-Pacific.
TodayCorp is setting a new benchmark in the online delivery of enterprise and accredited training for the workplace of the 21st century, said Brian Finn, Chairman of Impart. The acquisition of Impart will add to the already impressive capabilities of the company, he added.
The combined company will be called TodayCorp and will have in excess of 90 staff with operations throughout the Asia-Pacific and offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Singapore
Earlier this year, TodayCorp acquired 60 per cent of Australian Business Limiteds Registered Training Organisation, Small Business Training Company (SBTC).
