New South Wales Ambulance Selects Getac V100 Rugged Laptop from Toughcorp

The Ambulance Service of New South Wales rolls out Electronic Medical Record System.
The Ambulance Service of NSW has moved to rollout stage with the latest version of their VACIS application. VACIS is the world’s foremost ambulance electronic medical record system and will be installed into Ambulance NSW’s fleet of almost 1000 vehicles. When called to an emergency paramedicsrecord patient details plus other symptoms and any other treatment they have provided.

The paramedics use a GETAC V100M rugged convertible tablet PC supplied by Tough Corp to run theVACIS solution. The GETAC V100M is connected to the Telstra Next –G network providing extremely fast patient records data transfer. The GETAC V100M computer is a mobile solution that can be used inside and outside the ambulance whilst attending the patient at a scene or at the hospital.

The total solution was selected after extensive field testing by the paramedics. The solution will be used by the 3000 plus Ambulance NSW Paramedics and will replace the current paper based system. The project will take over two years to roll out with the major part of the project being the training of the 3000 + paramedics, Ambulance Service of NSW is one of the largest ambulance services in the world and one of the most advanced.
