Announcement posted by SW Gloves 26 Aug 2010
Union City, California (August 25,
2010) – Clinical studies have shown that SW AloeVate Aloe Vera impregnated disposable
exam gloves can improve the condition of your skin after only 10 days of
consistent use. Additionally, SW AloeVate disposable exam gloves may play a
significant role in increasing health care worker hygiene compliance.
According to a study printed in the December 2003 issue of American Journal of Infection Control, donning dry-coated Aloe Vera exam gloves resulted in a noticeable improvement of skin integrity. 30 assembly-line factory workers with occupational dry skin and/or ailments such as contact dermatitis were asked to wear an Aloe Vera impregnated exam glove for 8 hours a day, on one hand only. Participants wore the glove for 30 days, followed by 30 days of rest and 10 days of repeated use.
No skin condition changes were observed on the non-gloved hand, while gloved hands saw a marked improvement. Aloe Vera impregnated exam gloves, which provide a gradual delivery of moisturizing Aloe Vera gel to the skin, helped contribute to a decreased appearance of fine line wrinkling and erythema.
In a related study printed in the August 2007 issue of MEDSURG Nursing, health care workers wearing Aloe Vera impregnated exam gloves were more likely to comply with general glove usage and hygiene practices. Moreover, satisfaction with improved skin condition was linked to positive attitudes toward hygiene compliance.
Donning SW AloeVate disposable exam gloves not only can improve the overall condition of skin, but may also assist in health care worker hygiene compliance, ultimately decreasing the likelihood of spreading infection and keeping patients safe. SW AloeVate disposable exam gloves are available in latex and nitrile materials.
