Canon New Zealand is proud to be announced as a print solution provider to the government state sector.

The all-of-government contracts are expected to save over $20million of tax payers’ money over the life of the contract - a fact thatCanon Country Manager Mike Johnstonsays can only be a positive for all involved.

"A new and open age of government procurement has begun and, both professionally and personally, I welcome it. The contract allows Canon to continue providing government with efficiencies and productivity that we passionately provide to our business and NFP customers daily and, by doing so, ensure that tax payer dollars are spent as effectively as possible," says Johnston.

"The contract is, for Canon and for the industry as a whole, one of the most important and exciting events since the release of the colour printer," he says.

With some 197 agencies able to leverage this opportunity, including government departments, SOEs, tertiary institutes and health boards, the all-of-government contract will serve over 40% of business activity (GDP) in New Zealand. It ensures greater efficiencies of service delivery, significant cost saving and improves the ease by which businesses can enter into commercial arrangements with government.

"The contract will continue to build on what historically has been a very good relationship between Canon New Zealand and the government," says Johnston "and we look forward to further showcasing our solutions portfolio which makes Canon one of the foremost leaders of our industry."
