Synnex To Set Up New Multi-Million Dollar Logistics Centre In Sydney

Land in Lidcombe has been purchased from Australia Co-operative Foods at a cost of $12 million including stamp duty. Synnex will invest a further $20 million to build a new logistics centre on the 21,110sq metre site and create another 100 jobs in Sydney over the next three years.

The new warehouse will not only be able to house more stock, but Synnex will be making a significant investment in new systems and technology, automating processes so that customers will receive a quicker and more efficient service.

Synnex has achieved huge growth in both New South Wales and Queensland over the past couple of years and are keen to grow the customer base further. Synnex Australia has therefore decided to build its first automated warehouse in New South Wales.

The new logistics centre in Sydney will be the first of its kind in Australia and will enable us to service our customers better and respond more quickly to their needs,” said Kee Ong, CEO, Synnex Australia.

This announcement follows a $2.5 million investment made last year to add another 12 trucks to the Synnex national fleet and expand the company’s headquarters in Melbourne to house another 100 staff over the next three years.
