Canon Australia today announced it is partnering with MESSAGEmanager Solutions Ltd to become the first signed multifunction print (MFP) reseller of the VOIP fax solution in Australia. The MESSAGEmanager solution fully integrates with Canon's multi function printers enabling users to send and receive VOIP faxes via email, desktop, MFPs and CRM and ERP applications, improving the efficiency, compliance and security of faxing documents.

MESSAGEmanager Fax IP fax software complies with the T.38 standard enabling facsimiles to be sent and received reliably over IP networks,

Luke Maddison, Senior Product Manager - Business Solutions, Canon Australia said: "Professions such as finance, government and legal, still rely heavily on fax as a legally binding and essential means of communication. Businesses are converting to IP Fax software at an increasing rate to take advantage of the associated cost savings and efficiencies. MESSAGEmanager provides businesses with a centralised enterprise fax solution which is effortlessly managed at a remote site, resulting in lower operating costs and increased efficiencies."

MESSAGEmanager integrates seamlessly with Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform and its core software products such as uniFLOW Output Manager and eCopy, to automate document workflows and streamline labour-intensive and document-heavy processes.

"The new partnership is a great opportunity for Canon as it enhances our portfolio and strengthens our ability to provide an end-to-end solution at every point in the document workflow," added Maddison.

MESSAGEmanager assists with document efficiency by tracking, logging and archiving inbound and outbound faxes, integrating them into the Document and Content Management Solution. This aids in business compliance as the fax solution allows IT departments to electronically tailor how faxes are accepted, routed, audited and archived.

Commenting on the partnership, Ivor Livingston, Chief Executive Officer, MESSAGEmanager said: "Global sales of Fax over IP (FOIP) have grown 69 percent in the last year, according to a Davidson Consulting firm. By partnering with Canon Australia, one of the leading MFP vendors in the market, we will be able to capitalise on this growth.

"By integrating with all virtual environments and IP Telephony Gateways and Routers including Cisco Unified Call Manager, Avaya, Alcatel, Mitel, 3Com, Siemens, Aastra, NET and Audiocodes MESSAGEmanager can help businesses save up to 40 percent on fax costs by moving to IP networks".
