Wins appeal on behalf of Accountant
ERA Legal wins appeal against decision to refuse registration of a tax agent
On30 September 2010, ERA Legal, acting on behalf of an established accountant seeking registration as a Tax Agent, succeeded in its appeal against a finding that the accountant was ineligible to be a tax agent by reason that he was not of good fame and character.

As a result of the evidence collated, prepared and presented by ERA Legal, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal determined that "it cannot be said that [the accountant] was not of good fame, integrity and character at the material times", and was satisfied that the accountant "is a fit and proper person for registration as a tax agent and that the decision under review should be set aside".
Consequently, the accountant's good name and reputation were upheld, and he will now be able to continue his career as a registered tax agent.
