Mitel Partners Trumpet Growth at Asia Pacific Partner Conference

Announcement posted by Mitel 10 Dec 2010

Mitel (NASDAQ: MITL), a leading provider of unified communications software solutions, has presented awards to Australian systems integrators TTGroup and AVC.

Anne Wrencher, operations manager for Mitel Australia and New Zealand commented, “Once a year we bring our channel partners together from across Asia, to learn about upcoming technologies, and share our successes in the market. This year 110 partner delegates attended our MPower conference in Phuket, travelling from Australia, New Zealand, China, India, Malyasia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and Vietnam.”

The award for Top Channel Performer for Australia and New Zealand went to Brisbane based TTGroup, who achieved the largest annual revenue growth across Australia and New Zealand.

Wollongong based AVC was awarded the Prize for Innovation, for a project at IMB Building Society, which incorporated sophisticated virtualisation technologies into a unified communications deployment.

TTGroup Communications specialises in delivering innovative business communications technology solutions to government agencies, and businesses of all sizes. Founded in 1992, the Brisbane based integrator is Mitel premierPARTNER accredited, employs more than 60 people, and is one of Queensland’s largest private communications companies.

Bob Bishop, CEO for TTGroup commented, “We started business in 1992 with a simple focus – to support our clients with communications solutions that improve their productivity and competitiveness. TTGroup has partnered closely with Mitel for many years, and the flexibility of their broad portfolio of sophisticated unified communications solutions has been a major part of our recent success. We believe that Mitel’s latest mobility and virtualisation technologies will help us to offer innovative new services and solutions, and win new clients.”

AVC is a systems integrator that offers IT support services and network infrastructure solutions. Based in Wollongong, AVC is Mitel selectPARTNER accredited, and offers a range of IT related services tailored to solve the business needs of organisations with fewer than 500 employees.

Pasquale Pierro, sales and marketing director for AVC commented, “Mitel’s solutions allow businesses to quickly innovate, by more effectively integrating business processes with the underlying telecommunications platform. By partnering with Mitel, we are able to offer our clients solutions that protect their investments in existing communications equipment, while allowing enhanced business continuity and disaster recovery.”

To handle recent growth in partner numbers and increasing business opportunities for unified communications solutions across Asia Pacific, Mitel further expanded their region wide partner training and certification program in 2010.

In 2010, Mitel partners in the region have certified more than 200 engineers. Classroom-based technical and sales training have been regularly held in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the Maldives, and Fiji. An intern program was also successfully trialed, with fully trained and certified interns completing the program in Australia, and successfully placed in jobs.

Anne Wrencher continued, “Many of our partners across Asia Pacific have been experiencing strong business growth. By providing our partners with easy access to comprehensive training, it has made it easier for them to win business opportunities.”

Mitel’s PARTNERprogram consists of three levels - authorizedPARTNER, selectPARTNER, and premierPARTNER, with each level differentiated by emphasis on service delivery capabilities and training for sales and technical staff. selectPARTNER and premierPARTNER status must employ an agreed number of Mitel certified technical staff, as well as offer different levels of technical support. premierPARTNERs are required to have a 24 x 7 technical support help desk and an in-house demonstration centre. A full range of self-paced online training courses are offered in addition to classroom-based training courses. Program certification is recorded on an individual basis, and follows the career of individuals.
