First Global Lehman Associates Study Highlights ASI’s Association Software Market Dominance

Announcement posted by Bench PR 02 Feb 2011

iMIS Leads in Global Market Share and Customer Satisfaction

Melbourne, 2nd February 2011: Advanced Solutions International (ASI), the leading global provider of web-based software for member and donor-based non-profits, today shared the results of Lehman Associates’ Global Report on ‘The Use and Satisfaction of Association Management Software’. The report revealed that ASI has three times the global market share of the nearest competitor, with more than 30% of associations in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia using iMIS. Additionally, the study showed that iMIS is the leader in all four of these markets.

The study showed that iMIS was rated number one for customer satisfaction based on three key customer satisfaction categories:

Meeting expectations for time to implement

Meeting expectations for ease of implementation

Meeting expectations for performance after implementation

“Implementing new software is a major decision for any association, and it can be extremely challenging to complete the project on time, under budget and without difficultly,” said Bob Alves, chairman and CEO of ASI. “It is important that we meet organisations’ expectations as we guide them through the process, so that they can focus on accomplishing their goals. ASI is proud to see that so many associations have been satisfied with our customer service, and we look forward to helping them achieve even greater success in the future.”

In the first survey of its kind in Australia, 122 organisations were interviewed, highlighting a trend that the not-for-profit sector is increasingly moving away from in-house custom solutions and databases towards reliable and robust commercial Association Management Systems (AMS).

The primary reason given by respondents to upgrade or purchase new software was to enhance their organisation’s capabilities to engage and do business with members through their websites and other online applications. Over a third (34%) of respondents felt their organisation had outgrown existing solutions, particularly in these areas.

Paul Ramsbottom, managing director of ASI Asia-Pacific, agrees that not-for-profits are increasingly choosing to implement commercial AMS solutions in an attempt to help run more efficiently and engage with members online. “Those working in the not-for-profit sector find that not only do commercial systems save time and frustration, but they also provide an easy upgrade path, enabling them to take advantage of new and emerging technologies.”

Lehman Associates conducted the U.S. survey in February and March 2010, while country-specific versions of the survey were administered to associations from July to November in Canada, the U.K. and Australia. The data from these four countries was then combined for the global analysis. The participating associations were asked to provide information on the purchasing process, upgrade factors, implementation experience and product satisfaction.
