Missing Out on a University Offer Doesn't Mean Missing Out on University

Announcement posted by mellennium PR 07 Feb 2011

Instead of celebrating their educational future, for students who missed out on receiving a second round university offer last Friday, the weekend may have been spent worrying about their future career. But missing out on a university offer doesn’t mean missing out on university, with Taylors UniLink Diplomas.

The diplomas are a new concept in university preparation and provide students with access to a wide range of university degree programs, giving students the freedom to choose where they want to study. A Taylors UniLink Diploma allows successful graduates to apply for admission with Advanced Standing to a range of Australian universities, including Charles Sturt Univeristy, Deakin University, La Trobe University and Swinburne University of Technology.

“The Taylors UniLink program cements our commitment to education in being able to offer local and international students an alternative pathway to university. The aim of Taylors UniLink is simple - to enable our students to enter the degree program they choose, at the university of their choice, so that they can have the career they want,” said Tony Cranshaw, Campus Principal, of Taylors UniLink and Taylors College Melbourne. “While there’s the option to continue studying in Melbourne, students can opt to apply to another university and move interstate.”

Taylors UniLInk Diplomas have been approved by the State accreditation authorities through processes which ensure that they are comparable in both their requirements and learning outcomes to the first year of undergraduate study at an Australian university. “In most cases, successful graduates will be able to enrol into second year at university” said Tony.

Taylors UniLink now offers FEE-HELP to local Australian students. FEE-HELP is a loan scheme available to eligible fee paying students to pay all or part of their tuition fees.

Taylors UniLink is owned by Study Group Australia, which also operate Taylors College, a leading provider of specialised programs for university preparation and secondary school education. Taylors College recently celebrated its 90th anniversary. Established in 1920 and known then as George Taylor and staff, the college was one of 13 colleges that offered tuition to students at the University of Melbourne and, within just a few years, was the most successful college in terms of students’ results.

Taylors UniLink offers flexibility with start dates so that students can opt to begin their diploma course in February, June or October. The next intake is Wednesday, 23 February, 2011.
