Pace Lawyers offers International Women's Day internship

Announcement posted by Pace Lawyers 02 Mar 2011

Adelaide legal practice, Pace Lawyers is offering a one-week paid placement to female high school and or university students undertaking legal studies to recognize International Women’s Day.

Pace Lawyers was established in 1998 by Serina Pace whose singular vision was “to create a forward-looking work environment delivering forward thinking legal solutions”.

Serina says Pace Lawyers “grew exponentially” and now boasts a robust team of commercial and corporate lawyers.

“Although not part of the master plan, the firm features significant female talent, which it is pertinent to celebrate on International Women’s Day,” she says.

“While continuing to push forward, it is worth pausing to reflect on the past.

“When I commenced working in a commercial firm in the mid 1990s in South Australia, females were among the obvious minority. While law remains a male dominated profession, with every year the ratio creeps towards equality and balance.

“This is a welcome outcome as women bring different qualities than do men to the practice of law inherent in their make-up.

“Being a female is by no means a disadvantage; the profession is most respectful towards one another, recognising that the practice of law is a privilege.”

Candidates interested in the internship should register their interest by 8 March with Kimberley Hoile on lawclerks@pacelawyers.com.
