Techniche Appoints new Managing Director in Germany

Techniche appoints new Managing Director to drive the ERST business growth.

Techniche is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Thomas Huben as Managing Director of ERST European Retail Systems Technology GmbH (ERST). Mr Huben replaces Mr Mark Waite, the founder of ERST, who will be relocating to Australia to work on specific projects for the Techniche group of companies.

Mr Huben, a native German who lives in Hamburg where ERST is located, has an extensive technology background and was recently the Executive VP (Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Consulting, Technical Support) of Versant Corporation.

Versant is a public company listed on NASDAQ (VSNT) and purchased in 2004 German-based POET Software. Mr Huben joined POET in 1998 pre-IPO.

Versant provides Scale-Out and Realtime solutions on SUN, HP, IBM platforms and various Administration and monitoring tools for cloud computing or distributed computing. Customers such as Ericsson, Samsung, Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia-Siemens, Nortel are using this Technology for NGN and LTE projects. British Airways, Sabre, Amadeus for online transactions in multi-tier environments.

Mr Huben has extensive international sales, marketing, operational, and product development experience and will be responsible for growing ERST within Europe, as well as through Techniche’s offices in Australia and the USA.
