The MH132 provides integrated voice and data communication capabilities, as well as top-of-the-range protection from drops, vibration, dust and rain showers. The new device is Getac’s first smartphone and continues the company’s legacy of fully and semi rugged computing solutions including rugged laptops, rugged tablets and rugged PDA’s.

Running the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, the unit is compatible with a wide range of different business applications and corporate IT systems, to allow companies to optimise business operational efficiency.

Tough Corp’s Handheld Brand Manager, Joel Taylor says the lightweight, small-sized MH132 is the ideal tool for filed technicians, utilities, transportation, sales or distribution fields.

“The MH132 enables your field sales and technical staff to have seamless integration with back office data and can in turn transmit field collected data quickly via the 3.75G modem,” he explains.

“This enables your field staff to have a real time data link which results in greater productivity.”

“The MH132 is rated with IP65 dust and water sealing and also MIL-STD 810G, meaning it can withstand five foot (1.5m) drops while having great dust and water resistance. In addition, the MH132 will still function in temperatures ranging from -21C to 43C.”

“Due to the it’s rugged features, the MH132 will offer a much lower total cost of ownership (TCO) due to less downtime for repairs.” says Taylor. “Its ruggedness means you can have a smartphone that can be used in any environment, no matter the weather, but still keep the benefit of a lightweight smartphone.”

The MH132 features a full colour, 3.2 inch touchscreen display with accelerometer for auto-rotate functions, a 3.2 mega pixel camera with geo-tagging software support, and integrated GPS for tracking, navigation and accurate job dispatch.

The MH132’s micro SD expansion slot supports up to 32GB of memory.

The MH132 offers comprehensive voice and data communication capabilities, including Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi 802.11 b/g, and 3.75G HSPA network.
