Merger set to grow Aurecon market share in Hong Kong

A merger between international engineering and management consultants Aurecon and building engineering specialists Daniel Chan and Associates Ltd (DCAL) of Hong Kong was announced this week.

The merger will enhance Aurecon’s capacity to service large infrastructure projects in Hong Kong and enable its respected building design team to increasingly service clients of Aurecon’s offices across Thailand and Vietnam and other Asian countries.

Daniel Chan & Associates Ltd. (DCAL) is an independent engineering consultancy offering a range of building engineering services, with particular expertise in sustainable design, in Hong Kong, China and Macau.

Charlie Miller, Aurecon’s General Manager for Asia, said, “This merger is part of Aurecon’s ongoing strategy to develop our world class offering across all aspects of building design.We see great opportunity in Asia, servicing clients in the region and in supporting overseas initiatives in Africa, Australia and New Zealand.”

The merger will offer Aurecon’s infrastructure clients the opportunity to take advantage of a increased range of design skills and the additional strength in building services engineering will make it possible to undertake larger commissions.

Aurecon will also be able to offer a significantly enhanced environmental engineering capability thanks to DCAL’s team and Daniel Chan’s personal profile and credibility in the industry.
