Thrifty Car Rental gears up for top travel industry award

Thrifty Car Rental has been nominated for a top travel industry award – with the winner to be decided by those who work in the industry itself.

Thrifty is in the running for Best Car/Campervan Rental Operator at this year’s National Travel Industry Awards, organized by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents.

All Australian travel agents are eligible to vote for the awards and winners will be announced at a ceremony in July.

Thrifty CEO Bryn McGoldrick said: “These awards celebrate all that is great about the Australian travel industry.

“As the only 100% Australian owned international car rental brand, Thrifty is calling on all travel agents to show their support for homegrown businesses by voting for Thrifty to win the Best Car Rental Operator category.”

“I’m confident Thrifty offers Australia’s best car rental experience and value and it would be fantastic to be recognised at such prestigious awards.

Thrifty scored a significant coup in October 2010 being named as the exclusive car rental partner for Australia's sevenmotoring clubs (NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAC, AANT, RAA and RACT).

"Thrifty hasdemonstrated a leading customerservice culture that combined with proactive key account management is making us the car rental company of choice for discerning travellers" said McGoldrick.

Travel agents have until Thursday 21 April at 5pm to show their support for Thrifty by voting at www.afta.com.au

Nominations are restricted to one per travel agency.
